How ex-Ondo gov, Agagu died

agaguAs the nation mourns the death of former Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, Sunday Mirror exclusively gathered that the circumstances which led to his death were not only shocking but also sudden.

It was authoritatively gathered from family sources yesterday that the former governor was bubbling with life particularly after his return from vacation. Dr. Agagu died less than 48 hours after he returned from Georgia in the United States of America where he went on vacation with his wife and his brother, Femi Agagu.
Family sources disclosed to Sunday Mirror that on his return to the country last Friday at 2.00 o’clock, he had lunch with his wife and children and later went for a private meeting in Yaba area of Lagos with his bosom friend, Pius Akinyelure and one, Ademola Adetokunbo. According to a family source, ‘At the meeting, Agagu excused himself to use the convenience and it took a bit of time.
He later came out sweating and feeling uncomfortable after which he requested that his friend should call a doctor who requested that they should bring him.
On getting to the hospital, the doctor said his pulse was low for him to count and referred them to St. Nicholas Hospital on Lagos Island where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.
His remains were later deposited at the state mortuary. During the period, his friend called his first son, Feyi Agagu who called his immediate brother, Femi, both of them called on Deji Adeleke who was preparing to travel out of the country. Adeleke cancelled his trip headed to the hospital with his travelling bags.
Femi and Feyi summoned courage to inform his wife. He was said to have passed on about 4.00pm on Friday. Feyi, his son and Femi, his brother, have taken charge of event at his residence receiving visitors on condolence visit to the house. Mrs Agagu had tried hard to fight back tears as she said they were very close friends.
Femi informed the Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadomhe on Friday and the press secretary to the Ondo State Governor. An official letter has been sent to the Ondo State government over his death.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko was also said to have contacted Agagu’s bosom friend, Akinyelure of government’s intention to participate in the burial.
